I have to give this top marks for twists and turns and keeping me guessing most of the way. I’m not saying the outcome wasn’t obvious – it is a YA paranormal romance after all – but I really wanted to know what was happening to Christine/Leah. The story was a bit slow going at first (like the title suggests, she’s pretty much hidden for most of the book) but when the pace picked up, I was kept entertained. Also the secondary characters (Sophia, Nathan, Emma, etc) were all given a good level of relevance so it didn’t feel like they were just add-ons. I’m hoping the villains get a bit more interesting in the second book in the series, Lost (yeah, I’ve bought it already because it was that good). A worthy read in the end. Recommended to YA paranormal readers.
