Before picking this up, all I knew about the story was from snippets of scenes from the movie adaptation. I knew there was a court case and a gross miscarriage of justice based on racism, but that was it. So, because I was expecting something totally different (a fast paced court room drama), the book started off very slowly for me but (thankfully) built up into a story I really enjoyed. I have to admit I was pretty upset over a few chapters but I guess that’s what made the story so good. Glad I finally read it.
