Okay, I really liked this book but I feel like it was mostly because I'd watched the TV series beforehand. Why? It was pretty long (I kept wondering when it would finish) and had far too many names for me to keep track of but the fact that I had watched the series made it easier for me to carry on. The list of names at the end was helpful afterwards to look back on events and deaths in the book though. Overall it was a very enjoyable read and I wish I had the imagination Martin possesses to write such rich characters and flowing scenes. Might be a bit grim for some people and it's certainly not for the faint hearted or those who don't like likeable character dying.
